Happy New Year!

As I reflect over the past year, the first thought that came to mind was how grateful I am for my wonderful fans and supporters. It's been a busy year with the releases of the first two Ackerman Security Series books, something I'm extremely proud of.

It's been a fabulous whirl wind getting the books into the public eye, promoting them, and continuing on with the ideas that are running through my mind for future books.

I'm reminded of the fact that without you, the fan, I wouldn't be where I am today and for that, I'd like to say, thank you.

Also, to the amazing Torie James, who is not only a fellow author, but friend, I express my gratitude. Her help along this path has been incredible. The promo pics she randomly sends my way are always a welcome site in my inbox. She is an amazing author and I'm glad to have her in my life.

Next I'd like to recognize a person who holds a piece of my heart that will always belong to them.... My co-author on an up and coming series, Madam Riann Campbell. Not only is she a talented writer but also my "bestest" friend. She is an incredibly caring person who has been right by my side, supporting me through the process of writing, editing, and publishing my books. I look forward to the day when she and I can share with all of you our "baby" (the series we are working on).

Then of course there is the outstanding group that make up my circle of friends. I love each and every one of them for their individuality, their support, and their friendship.

And let's not forget my incredible son and his fiancee. Their support and love have been amazing, even through the miles that separate us.

So, in closing, I'd like to remind you of this:
A new year is like a blank book. With pen in hand, it is your chance to write a beautiful story for yourself.

Let The Fun Begin!

It's my favorite time of year.
The final gifts have been purchased and now it's time to wrap, wrap, wrap!

Wrapping brings back found memories for me. I've been doing the task for as long as I can remember and it was my grandmother who shared the love of wrapping with me. I can remember her teaching me some creative touches to make each gift a special item for the recipient.

Over the years I added my own embellishments to the wrapping process. Some gifts were wrapped up in a manner that matched the theme of the gift. For example: If I gave someone a stack of movies, then the outer wrapping might be a 3-dimensional version of a "couch potato" complete with a TV set, couch, potato figure, and even the "throw rug". I even remember creating a three foot snowman one year as the wrapping for a snowman beverage server.

There are so many great and unique things you can do to your gift wrapping. Why not try to come up with something unusual this year for your packages?

If you have something you'd like to share with us, feel free to post a pic of it either here in the comments or on my FB or Google+ pages. I'd love to see what you come up with.

Twas Two Weeks Before Christmas - Ackerman Style

'Twas two weeks before Christmas and all through the Ackerman mansion every one was stirring, even Harm with his well hidden charm. The stockings were hung throughout the whole house because let's face it, there's a ton of people in the place. The 'grown' children were far from nestled as they scurried through the training center with visions of warm showers in their heads. And Mama in her Camo... Oh wait... No mamas yet, but in a few months, then we'll see. But I digress.....
When out on the roof there arose such a clatter that every armed guard spring into action to see what was the matter. Away to the window Fawn flew like a flash, tore open the curtain, and pressed her nose to the glass.
The sun on the snow gave a blinding glare but the little girl didn't care. As her vision focused she blinked to see Hannah, Spade, and Nick using their powers quick, quick, quick. There before her arose from the ground eight tiny reindeer that made not a sound.... Because they weren't real but they sure looked it. And right behind them were the sled with what had to be the likeness of St. Nick. Not her 'uncle' 'cause Aunt Hannah said he was definitely no saint but you get what I mean. As they places the figures secularly on the roof Fawn laughed hearing Spade shout from below, when he spotted her,
"Now Dasher! Now Dancer! Now Prancer and Vixen! On Comet! On Cupid! On Donner and Blitzen! To the top of the roof you all must go for Fawn to see from below!"
